Ocean Outdoor appoints new UK chief executive

Ocean Outdoor has appointed Phil Hall to the newly created role of UK chief executive.

The appointment by the advertising firm comes as part of a restructuring of the company, according to Campaign Live.

In 2019, Hall joined Ocean Outdoor as a joint UK managing director. Prior to this, the new chief executive spent 18 years at Mediacom.

“We’re a company with a clear vision, great landlord and buy-side partners and a fantastic team,” Hall said.

“Ocean will continue to deliver innovation for advertisers in an unmissable, mass, brand-safe environment. It’s a privilege to be at the helm for what I believe is the most exciting growth phase for Ocean and our stakeholders.”

The out-of-home (OOH) company has also announced further appointments in a bid to grow its digital-out-of-home (DOOH) portfolio.

Steve George has become group chief development officer and Catherine Morgan has been promoted to the position of managing director of Ocean Labs. Tom Ballantine will take over George’s current responsibilities as UK managing director.

David Tait has also been promoted to head of studio and design across Ocean Outdoor and Helen Haines has also shifted to the role of head of brand and events for the group.

Ocean Outdoor CEO Tim Bleakley told Campaign Live: “The streamlined group structure supports the next leg of the Ocean voyage and most pleasing of all allows those people at the forefront of the post-2019 recovery to grow and evolve.

“We have three talented and focused growth-led country CEOs and brand extension discipline in Labs and Studio to drive innovation and creativity and deliver for our partners. Importantly, we can share knowledge and best practise across the Group swiftly and effectively.”
