Brewdog promotes Lauren Carrol as CMO

Brewdog has promoted its brand and marketing director, Lauren Carrol, to the role of chief marketing officer.

Carrol joined the craft beer company in August 2018 as a project manager for its supply chain, before being promoted to the position of group continuous improvement manager, a position she held for over one year, before being promoted to specials projects director.

She held this position until June 2021, before being promoted to brand and marketing director.

In a LinkedIn post, Carrol confirmed the promotion. She said: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as chief marketing officer at Brewdog.”

Prior to Brewdog, Carrol held the position of tech delivery lead at The Oil and Gas Technology Centre.

She has also held senior positions at Stork, where she worked as a project management graduate, senior project coordinator and business improvement manager.

The news comes as recently, a marketing email for Brewdog has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for featuring the phrase ‘one of your five a day’ in the subject heading, just days after the company reportedly surrendered its B Corp certification after B Lab the institution that awards the accreditation, “requested additional measures” from the company.

Earlier this year, BrewDog founder James Watt has responded to some of the allegations that have been plaguing the company.

Speaking on Steven Bartlett’s The Diary Of A CEO podcast, the BrewDog chief opened about his personal struggles, including anger management, marketing mistakes, and workplace culture disputes.
