Subway partners up with Fareshare charity in Judi Love-backed campaign

Subway has partnered up with charity FareShare in a bid to tackle food waste and support people fighting hunger amid the cost of living crisis.

In a campaign backed by comedian and TV personality Judi Love, the sandwich chain will donate £1 from every Festive Menu item purchased to Fareshare from 13 to 24 December.

The collaboration launched after Fareshare research found that half of Brits (50%) feeling the impact of rising food prices and energy inflation are more appreciative and grateful for what they have. An additional 26% agreed that they were more likely to offer to help others if they felt they were struggling, as a result of the cost-of-living crisis.

According to Subway, around 10 million people, including 2.6 million children, are said to be going hungry amid the current cost of living crisis.

The campaign, supported by the ‘vibrant, straight-talking’ stand-up comedian Judi Love, intends to bring the people what they want – ‘savings on quick-service, healthy and nutritious meals’.

“We’re really excited to be launching our Sub You campaign with Judi Love and raise awareness of the great deals that Subway is offering this festive season,” Subway UK and Ireland head of marketing, Angelina Gosal, said.

“At Subway we’re committed to supporting local communities and our partnerships with FareShare and the CC Foundation are our chance to help those who might need it across the UK and Ireland this winter.”

Subway’s partnership with FareShare comes as part of the sandwich brand’s ‘Sub You’ campaign – a scheme that intends to support Brits with deals and promotions on healthy meals.

Judi Love, who launched the partnership in store added: “We all know it’s an incredibly tough time for many at the moment, which is why it’s more important than ever to support those committed to making a difference and feeding the festive spirit this winter.

“Subway’s partnership with FareShare and their ‘Sub You’ initiative is doing just that. So, get yourself down to your local store and help us share the love this festive season!”
