I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here viewers have taken to social media to complain about the number of adverts shown since the series started on Sunday.

Viewers of the ITV show have not been impressed by the length and frequency of the ad breaks so far.

While last night’s episode saw Olivia Attwood’s dramatic exit and the celebrities attempt their first jungle trial this year, a large majority of the British TV viewing public took to Twitter to joke that the show itself was shorter than the total amount of ad breaks.

One Twitter user wrote: “The audacity of ITV interrupting 90 minutes of ads with short clips of #ImACeleb”

Another said: “If you take out all the ads, you’d probably get a good 1/2 hr out of this! #ImACeleb”

Others have blamed the amount of ads on former health secretary Matt Hancock, with one member of the public writing: “This show would literally be 20 mins long if it wasn’t for the ad breaks to pay Matt Hancock’s fee. #ImACeleb”

Another added: “People moaning about the ads. You think Moyles, Boy George and Hancock are doing this for fun. #imaceleb

In spite of this general distaste, the show reportedly drew an average of 9 million viewers for its first episode on Sunday evening.
