London electric taxi firm criticises Uber’s carbon footprint with OOH campaign

Sherbet Taxis, a premium fully electric black taxi company, has criticised Uber’s carbon footprint by creating a damning out-of-home (OOH) campaign.

Around 350 of the brand’s taxis will boss wraps that read ‘Uber is fuming’ with the caption: ‘They pump kilotonnes of exhaust into the air. We don’t.’

Sherbet Taxis will also stress the importance of its message by parking its critical adverts outside Uber’s London head offices on The Strand and Euston Road.

Messages like ‘London’s new street cleaner’ and ‘luxury doesn’t have to cost the earth’ will also appear on the brand’s fleet of cars.

According to a European Federation for Transport and Environment report in 2020, ride-hailing Uber trips result in an estimated 69% more climate pollution, on average, than the trips they displace.

Sherbet Taxis is reportedly one of the largest electric taxi companies in London and was created by CEO and London taxi driver Asher Moses. The brand intends to be a thousand taxis strong in the next two years.

“Sherbet was built on the belief that black taxis are a fundamental part of what makes London such a great city and that there is no substitute for the quality of service and experience they deliver,” Moses said.
