Ocean Outdoor partners with Louise Xin to shine a light on human rights

Out-of-home media specialist Ocean Outdoor has today announced a new collaboration with fashion designer and human rights campaigner Louise Xin.

As part of the collaboration, Ocean Outdoor screens broadcast the designer’s 2022 Stockholm Fashion Week show across six European countries – Sweden, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Finland and the United Kingdom – and eight European cities -Amsterdam, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Helsinki, London, Oslo and Rotterdam.

Called ‘I have a dream’, Xin’s show shone a light on the environmental and social impact of fashion  by displaying messages and archive footage from human rights and anti-slavery organisations.

Xin’s showcase also included a debate on the future or European fashion from a human rights and environmental viewpoint featuring famous faces from the worlds of fashion, culture, politics and activism.

“Louise’s label and her humanitarian work addresses two important issues – sustainability and a proposed EU ban on imports from businesses which use forced labour,” Ocean Outdoor Sweden marketing lead, Johan Lööf said.

“This is the first time a fashion show has been broadcast simultaneously across multiple outdoor screens, shining a light on two important messages about sustainability and anti-slavery that, as a business, Ocean wants to support and share.”

Xin herself added: “It has been the absolutely most beautiful and powerful experience watching people from so many different fields and industries coming together, collaborating for something bigger than ourselves.

“For this show I’ve gathered together the fashion industry, the creative industry, human rights organisations and advocates worldwide, decision makers, diplomats, and thanks to Ocean we are also involving and raising awareness for customers. Together I truly believe we can create a better future. There are so many ways to change the world. Let’s start with cloth.”

The extensive Europe-wide broadcast follows from another ambitious Ocean Outdoor project – which saw the firm launch a UK-spanning virtual beacon display to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee earlier this year.
