Rightmove recruits Just Eat CMO behind Snoop Dogg and Katy Perry ads

Rightmove has appointed Matt Bushby as its new chief marketing officer in a bid to improve the brand’s marketing strategy.

Currently the UK marketing director for Just Eat, Bushby will join the property marketplace in September and lead the marketing division at trade and consumer levels.

The new CMO will report to Rightmove chief executive Peter Brooks-Johnson and become part of the executive committee, replacing Iain Kennedy who joined the brand in 2014.

“It’s an exciting time for Matt to join as we continue to make home-moving easier,” Brooks-Johnson said.

“This year we’ve been developing a number of innovations, including new market-first products to help make the process of finding and moving into a rental property better. I’m confident that Matt will fit in well with our culture of restless innovation.”

During his time at Just Eat, Bushby helped pioneer the infamous Snoop Dogg and Katy Perry ads in the UK and also landed the brand’s sponsorship of the Love Island series for the last three years.

He added: “I’m thrilled to be joining Rightmove, an iconic brand that plays a big part in so many people’s lives. I can’t wait to work with the team to further grow and shape the future of the business and the brand.”

Bushby joined Just Eat in 2016, originally attaining the head of customer acquisition role.

A Just Eat spokesperson concluded: “We are grateful to Matt who has been a key member of the UK leadership team for over five years, overseeing a period of rapid business growth and leading on numerous highly successful marketing campaigns in the UK.”
