Ocean Outdoor brings Wimbledon pop-up to Westfield London

Out-of-home media specialist Ocean Outdoor has partnered with the All England Club and telecom firm Vodafone to bring an immersive DOOH Wimbledon experience to tennis fans across the UK.

The partnership’s flagship activation, the ‘Wimbledon Experience W12’ will be located at Westfield Square in Shepherd’s Bush. Having opened its doors yesterday (27 July), the event will run through to Sunday, 10 July, with free entry from 11AM daily.

Matches from the Championships will be shown live on large screens within an English garden themed landscape, complete with lawns, flower beds and livings walls. Refreshments will also be made available.

 

“By bringing SW19 to W12, visitors to Westfield London will be able to soak up the atmosphere and action of The Championships as it happens,” Ocean Labs director, Catherine Morgan said.

“The W12 Experience is also a chance for Wimbledon partners to connect directly with families and tennis fans all within the setting of an English summer garden.”

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Europe head of brand experience and partnerships, Grace Charge added: “We’re excited to be combining Ocean Outdoor’s world-class digital screen capabilities with Westfield London’s experiential event space to bring the Wimbledon experience to W12 in an interactive format.

“The activation is a great example of creating a fun and engaging destination while delivering sporting entertainment to a wide range of audiences.”

Ocean Outdoor’s fifth year of partnership with the All England Club will see the media firm carry tournament highlights across 35 of its large formats screens in 11 cities nationwide.

All England Club director of communications and marketing Alexandra Willis commented on the partnership, saying  “It is a great privilege that for two weeks a year, the eyes of the world turn to Wimbledon to watch The Championships.

“Alongside the BBC’s brilliant broadcast coverage, it is great to be extending the Wimbledon feeling across the UK through this partnership with Ocean Outdoor and their full motion network.”
