Ex John Lewis marketer makes move to Sage software company

Software firm Sage has appointed Craig Inglis as its new executive vice-president of global brand and integrated marketing.

Inglis joins after departing John Lewis as customer director at the beginning of 2020, after working for the brand for 12 years.

Reporting to the software company’s CMO Cath Keers, the new marketing vice president will help revamp the brand and make the firm more marketable to consumers.

Working alongside agency VCCP London, Sage offers businesses accounting, payroll and HR solutions and services.

“It’s a business with huge heart that was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, and still has it’s HQ there, but quietly become one of Britain’s biggest tech businesses and a global player in its market,” Inglis wrote on LinkedIn.

“That aside, I’ve been totally seduced by their mission to knock down barriers so everyone can thrive and to be the champion of small & medium sized businesses, the lifeblood of economies across the world.”

“Businesses are full of human beings, and there can be little that is more human than putting everything on the line to set up your own business. Our job is to make life easier through brilliant software and human expert advice & support, so that everything can flow.”

Prior to his time at John Lewis, Inglis worked as the director of sales and marketing for Virgin Trains. He is also the non-executive chair of The Marketing Society, a role he has worked in since 2018.

“I’m going to be on a mission to eradicate the term B2B!” he added.
