The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has collaborated with the Tanzania Marketing Science Association (TMSA) to advance the marketing profession in the UK and Tanzania.
The partnership aims to offer professional marketers in both countries access to development opportunities and resources.
As part of the agreement, the two bodies will develop a “shared pathway” for workers seeking to obtain CIM and TMSA membership. The associations will adopt a framework to align qualifications across the two regions.
Chris Daly, chief executive of the CIM, said: “We are delighted to announce this partnership with the Tanzania Marketing Science Association, which will be vital in advancing the marketing profession in Tanzania.
“We hope this partnership can be the start of a productive, mutually beneficial, working relationship that will help both organisations and the marketers we support to thrive in the years that follow,” Daly added.

The TMSA will use CIM’s Global Professional Marketing Framework (GPMF), using it to develop marketing skills globally.
Additionally, both parties will support events within the sector.
Professor Emmanuel Chao, director of TMSA, said: “The Tanzania Marketing Science Association is delighted to agree a partnership with CIM, as we look to advance the profession and empower marketers.”
“The alignment of membership, qualifications and standards will help to upskill current marketing professionals and maximise the quality of the aspiring marketers, which will improve their job prospects in a challenging environment. Organisations and society can only benefit from this partnership and the enhanced marketing professionals it will create,” Chao added.
