Eurostar has tapped comedian Tom Allen for a new film centred around travelling to the Olympics and Paralympics, showing the comedian setting off for the games alongside Team GB supporters.

Entitled ‘Let The Games Begin’ the 20-second spot created by Adam&EveDDB and DDB Paris highlights the excitement of athletes and fans as we are now just 25 days away from the games.

Running until the end of the Paralympics on 8 September, the campaign will be featured across TV, social media, radio and out-of-home platforms.

It shows the Eurostar platform transformed into an Olympic running track, with passengers experiencing the everyday act of boarding a train as a unique and humorous spectacle.

The film ends with Tom Allen being revealed as the commentator, adding a touch of humour.

While it ties in with Eurostar’s role as the official Team GB travel partner of the Olympics, it also builds on the brand’s successful ‘Together We Go Further’ brand platform from last year by tapping into the ‘spark’ concept.

“We are excited to reveal our new brand campaign, which focuses on what Eurostar does best: bringing people together. Close your eyes and you’re instantly transported,” said Eurostar chief commercial officer Francois le Doze.

Adam & Eve DDB creative director Paula Hochberg added that the through the campaign they “had the opportunity to continue building on our new ‘Together We Go Further’ creative platform and put passengers in the spotlight.”

“It was a pleasure working with the cast, including a gold-winning Paralympic athlete, the amazing comedian Tom Allen, and the incredible Eurostar team to celebrate their travel partnership with the Olympics and Paralympics teams featured across their network.”
