Ocado Retail has launched a Christmas campaign featuring singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, which highlights festive food traditions through song.

The video campaign features an Ocado choir made of singing delivery drivers and colleagues to celebrate modern festive food in a reimagined version of the Christmas carol Jingle Bells.

During the choir rehearsals, the Ocado singers are surprised by Ellis-Bextor, who will be joining them for a live performance on 12 December.

Dan Elton, chief customer officer at Ocado Retail said: “Food is at the heart of everything we do at Ocado, so reimagining a Christmas carol to celebrate the dishes people truly love at this time of year felt like the perfect fit.

“Christmas looks a little different in every household, and we love that our range can help everyone celebrate in their own unique way, whether that’s sticking to the classics or trying something completely unexpected.”

The clip shows the choir singing alongside Sophie Ellis-Bextor and afterwards having a festive spread which includes pigs in blankets, mince pies with cheese and snowman bao buns.

The Christmas carol will be performed by Ocado’s choir and Soul Choir, with a guest appearance from Sophie Ellis-Bextor on George Street in Richmond, West London, on 12 December at 12.45pm.

Additionally, the online retailer will be offering free food samples at their food truck.
