Spring is upon us once again. The cherry blossoms are blooming, the daffodils have sprung, and adorable baby animals begin to emerge.
And there are finally warmer days to come. Well, hopefully, you can never be too sure when it comes to British weather.
So, in celebration of the spring season, we take a look back at some of our favourite ads containing animals – as what says spring better than a parade of cute animals?
Buster the Dog
We have started this week’s round up with a not-so-seasonal campaign from December 2016.
This ad for John Lewis stars Buster the Boxer. Buster wants to go outside and play on the newly installed trampoline. He stares wistfully out the window, watching the wildlife jump up and down.
He finally gets his chance on Christmas morning.
Duracell Bunny
While not a ‘real animal’ and not the cutest either, we think this one still counts. The Duracell Bunny has featured in the battery brand’s adverts since 1973.
It first appeared in the ‘Drumming Bunny’ campaign, which was devised by creative agency Dancer Fitzgerald Sample, and has been used by the brand ever since.
The mascot was given a voice in 2019.

Specsavers
The third advert on our list is from eyecare firm Specsavers.
Set in the Scottish Highlands, the advert ‘Collywobble’ features a veteran farmer, Arthur Athurson who has been shearing sheep for 60 years but due to deteriorating eyesight he accidently shears his sheepdog.
The advert is part of the brand’s ‘Should’ve gone to Specsavers’ platform.
Crusha
Our last entry on this week’s Absolute Best roundup is this nostalgic offering from Crusha.
Produced by web animator Joel Veitch, the campaign features cats working out in a gym and a voiceover that is juxtaposed with their cutesy image, they may be trying to be tough, but the cats are still adorable, well, most of them.
