We take a break from our regular programming to give readers a special edition of our Absolute Best series.
Here, we take a look at some of our favourite April Fool’s marketing stunts from this year.
Cadbury
The first offering on our list is from popular chocolate brand Cadbury.
Devised by Elvis, the campaign introduces the chocolatiers ‘On the Goo’ sachets, which contain the centre of a Cadbury Creme Egg. The new sachets allow consumers to add the goo to any dish they desire.
Josh Collier, brand manager, Cadbury Creme Egg, said: “The condiment game is changed forever. Nothing compares to goo!!”
Dairylea
Soft cheese firm Dairylea has launched a new marketing drive for Dairylea Brunchers, a new take on its classic Dairylea Lunchers.
Designed to appeal to Millennials who are “obsessed with brunching” at weekends, the new Brunchers contain mini-fried eggs, avocado, miniature English muffins and a Dairylea Triangle.
The campaign was devised by creative agency Elvis.

Boots Opticians
Next on the list is Boots Opticians.
Boot’s has unveiled a new marketing drive for their new fully UV-protected airline.
The experts at Boots Opticians said: “It’s important to protect your eyes from the damaging effects of the sun’s harmful UV (ultraviolet) rays. The skin, eyes and area around the eyes are very sensitive to UV radiation and just because the lens on your sunglasses appear darker, this doesn’t mean it offers better protection. This summer, be sure to get the perfect pair of sunglasses so you can look great and be safe too.”

Heck Sausages
The next marketing stunt on our list is from Heck Foods UK. Known for their range of chicken sausages, the brand has launched a new matcha flavour this April Fool’s.
While we do love a good matcha latte, we can’t say this is a flavour we want to try. It’s probably for the best that this flavour is just an April Fool’s prank.

Hamilton
Next in our round-up of our favourite April Fool’s pranks is this offering from the West End production of Hamilton.
Originally about the founding Father without a father, the production has rebranded, putting Alexander Hamilton’s wife Eliza back into the narrative.
See Eliza at the Victoria Palace Theatre in 2026.

RNLI
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution has gotten in on the fun by encouraging its Instagram followers to pick a new siren to help casualties stay calm.
Options include the popular meme “Everybody Stay Calm, OMG it’s happening”, the Thundersbird theme tune, “Raise your ya ya ya”, “Mustaaaaaaaaaaaard” and the Danger Mouse themetune.
