Essencemedia.com will continue to be the media agency of record for the long-running ‘This Girl Can’ campaign.

The agency has worked on the National Lottery-funded ads since they were launched in 2015.

Sport England director of marketing Kate Dale said: “Our media strategy must build relevance with audiences from underrepresented groups, who currently think sport and physical activity are unappealing, impossible or just not for them.”

She added: “There are media technologies we will be using that we couldn’t even dream of when we launched in 2015. But one thing won’t change, women will always be at the heart of what we do.”

The firm’s reappointment follows a six-way competitive pitch process.

Rebecca Marshall, client president at EssenceMediacom, said: “Through our innovative media strategy, we’re committed to helping this powerful message break through to new audiences across the UK and championing the women who have already begun their journeys.”
