Saatchi & Saatchi has lost its exclusive creative agency status for retail group Waitrose and Partners.

According to the supermarket chain, it is conducting a review of its roster of agencies and will expand its account “depending on the requirements of the project”.

However, the agency will remain on the roster and will be the supermarket’s dedicated agency for its Valentine’s Day and spring campaigns.

Waitrose reported it will consider its roster of agencies for its 2025 Christmas campaign, including Saatchi & Saatchi.

The agency will also retain the John Lewis Partnership and the John Lewis Financial Services accounts.

A Waitrose spokesperson said: “Like many brands, our long-term aim is to work with a number of agency partners depending on the requirements of the brief. We’re proud of the work we’re doing with Saatchi & Saatchi; they are leading our upcoming Spring and Valentine’s campaigns and remain the exclusive creative agency partner for John Lewis.”

Its current roster of agencies includes creative agency Wonderhood Studios, PR firm MLG Communications and design consultancy Pentagram.

Waitrose has also worked with Dentsu Creative on its content account.

Saatchi & Saatchi declined to comment.
