Ogilvy UK executive creative director Nicola Wood is to leave the agency after seven years.

Wood joined the agency as creative director in 2017, after having holding positions at Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe Y&R and Grey London.

While at Ogilvy, Wood and her creative partner Andy Forrest helped the agency to win the Glass Lion at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, in 2022.

The duo also won Creative Team of the Year at the Campaign UK Agency of the Year Awards for 2022.

Forrest will remain with the agency.

Wood said: “Is it crazy to leave somewhere on a high. Or it it crazy to stay and not follow your heart? I think you need a bit of insanity to do great things and it’s time to do even more great things, just somewhere new.

“The universe called and I listened. I’ve had the most fruitful, productive and blessed seven years at Ogilvy, made a tonne of culturally impactful award-winning work but the greatest achievement (other than the Campaign creative team of the year, of course) has to be the friendships for life that I can add alongside my darling Andy. I wish Ogilvy, and new comrades NCA, the very best. It’s been a joy. Big love.”

Wood’s next move is not confirmed.

Ogilvy UK have said they will not replace Wood.

Ogilvy UK chief creative officer Andre (Dede) Laurentino said: “Nicola leaves us, and what big shoes to fill. After seven years working at Ogilvy UK, most recently as ECD for advertising and part of the leadership team, Nicola has decided to move on. We’ll miss her dearly.

“The work she produced here is stellar and she was a key part of the creative community. Many of her ideas will remain on our shelves in all colours of metals and pencils. We’d like to thank Nic for her hard – and brilliant – work. We wish only the very best to you, Nic.”
