Automotive brand BMW has launched a new holiday campaign that celebrates the joy of driving across generations.

The Gift campaign, by Hamburg agency Jung von Matt, centres on a film that tells the story of seven-year-old Tim and his quest to find the perfect Christmas present for his beloved grandmother.

The campaign intertwines the brand’s history with its future vision, showing off the iconic BMW 1500 – a model that marked a new era for the brand in the 1960s – alongside its Neue Klasse of electric vehicles for 2025.

The festive film follows Tim and his parents as they search for the ideal Christmas gift. Despite his parents’ traditional suggestions, Tim has his own ideas and spots a BMW Junior Seat in a shop window, which his grandmother unwraps on Christmas Eve. 

Filmed in Vienna and set to Run-DMC’s 1980s classic Christmas in Hollis, the 100-second film will be distributed across BMW’s YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram, with interactive posts from PIRO GmbH. A 60-second version will air during holiday programming on German free-to-air TV.
