The Incorporated Society of British Advertisers’ (ISBA) director general, Phil Smith, has announced his decision to step down from the position in mid-2025.
Smith will continue as Chair of Origin, ISBA’s prototype cross-media audience measurement solution.
The trade body has appointed a Nominations Committee from its council and officers consisting of Ben Rhodes, Taide Guajardo, and Marg Jobling. It will report to Pete Markey, ISBA’s president.

Phil Smith said: “Serving ISBA’s members has been the best role of my career. I look forward to focusing my efforts on driving the success of Origin and will support the Nominations Committee in every way I can in finding an energetic new Director General to take ISBA as an agent of positive change to the next level.”
Pete Markey added: “We would like to thank Phil for the drive and purpose he has brought to ISBA over the last eight years.
