To celebrate the launch of its Fakeaway Chicken Shop range, Birds Eye is hosting a late-night chicken shop pop-up ‘Cluck Truck’, which is handing out free burgers, wings, and tenders to passersby in London.
The chicken shop range was launched after research from the brand revealed that one in five people in the UK cite fried chicken as their go-to takeaway, 37% of respondents also commented that they bought takeaways as they are quick and easy.
Research highlighted that 19% of Brits purchased a takeaway at least once a week and 19% opted for a fakeaway.
According to the data, Google searches for food deliveries spike during the hours of 10pm-3am, but many fast-food places shut as early as 10.30pm during the week.
Charlotte, a customer that sampled the new range said: “I was ready to head home hungry, but Birds Eye had my back—best surprise ever!”

Another customer added: “This is pretty cool. I’m defo buying some of these when I next go shopping because I can make myself a burger anytime – just open my freezer, put it in the oven, get into my PJs, and enjoy.”
The range includes Tennessee-style BBQ-loaded burgers, American-style gravy-loaded burgers, buttermilk chicken tenders, hot and fiery chicken chunks, honey sriracha chicken wings, crispy potato ridges, and hash potato bites.
