Kevin the Carrot has returned once again to headline Aldi’s Christmas campaign, having this time been assigned a ‘Mission Impossible’-style task to rescue the ‘Spirit of Christmas’.
Developed in partnership with creative agency McCann UK, the retailer’s work is centred around ‘Kevin the Carrot’s Christmas Mission’, a 90-second clip that aims to emulate Christmas TV specials of years gone by.
Returning for a staggering ninth effort, Kevin has been entrusted by Father Christmas with rescuing the Spirit of the season from would-be humbug kidnappers.
“Would it even be Christmas without Kevin the Carrot on our screens? We’re delighted to bring back everyone’s favourite carrot for a ninth year to help the nation get into the Christmas spirit,” Aldi UK marketing director, Jemma Townsend said.

All is not lost however as Kevin invariably saves the day and helps the evil Dr Humbug experience a change of heart, realising that ““Christmas is better when goodwill is returned.”
McCann UK chief creative officer, Dave Price added: “This year’s ad is a bit of a blockbuster, as Kevin goes on a quest to rescue the Christmas spirit.
“Once again Todd and Kylie, and all the team at Psyop have done an incredible job in bringing this story to life. We think Kevin’s got a good few assignments to crack yet.”
