The Royal Navy has launched a set of four new recruitment films which build on its classic “Made In” style to highlight the opportunities within the service.

Created by the Royal Navy’s agency-of-record House 337, the 30-second spots follows four recruits in the transition from civilian life to Navy life.

All four of the films were directed by the award-winning Greg Hackett through Spindle. As well as the full 30-second films, they will each be shown as 10-second and 6-second cutdowns.

“As with every campaign we’ve ever produced together, it is critical that we tell authentic stories using the brilliant servicemen and women of the Navy,” said House 337 creative director Steve Hawthorne

“Greg has a great deal of experience at really bringing these stories to life, and we’re immensely proud of this set of films and the positive impact that they will no doubt have on the ongoing recruitment push”

”Born In Liverpool’ tells the story of a daily city commute and juxtaposes it with the global travel opportunities within the Royal Navy, while ‘Born In Basildon’ focuses on friendships gained through the Navy.

‘Born In Paisley focuses on how the Royal Navy can broaden horizons, and shows a young recruit move from living through others on social media to having important real world experiences, while ‘Born In Southend’ highlights how Navy life can provide structure where there was chaos.

Royal Navy head of marketing Paul Colley said: “Time and again, when talking to potential recruits, we see repeated themes that are so important in their decision-making process.”

“We wanted to address these head on and show that a career as a Royal Navy Rating can offer structure and opportunity, and help to deliver life-long friendships in the process.”
