Talksport has launched its Euro 2024 campaign with a cheeky dig at the Germans, in a spot which opens with a shot of the Brandenburg gate and a towel that reads ‘No one beats us to the Euros’.

The spot, created by News UK’s dedicated agency Pulse Creative, is an allusion to the trope of Germans snapping up the best sun loungers on the beach early.

Production company The Berry brought the concept to life using advanced CGI techniques to create the illusion of a giant towel, resulting in a visually striking film which conveys Talk Sport’s playful message.

The campaign, which launched on 9 June, will be celebrating Talksport’s coverage throughout the tournament.

“This summer talkSport will broadcast every game live from the Euros, as well as bringing you 24/7 coverage from Germany.. So to acknowledge this, we have created a fun social film to show people that talkSPORT will get you to all the action first,” said Talksport head of marketing Will Martin.

“The use of CGI enabled us to create an epic stunt for the Euros without even having to leave our sun loungers,” added Pulse executive creative director Rusell Ramsey.
