Energy firm EDF is review its creative and PR agencies, spurring a competitive pitch process.

The account was held by Havas, which has opted not to take part in the pitch, it told Campaign.

However, the agency will still handle buying for the energy giant.

Havas had created the energy firm’s Busy Doing Nothing campaign in 2020, which promoted zero carbon electricity.  The ad showed EDF engineers as they reduce the UK’s carbon emissions through its battery storage facility, solar panels, power stations and wind farms.

In recent weeks, Havas’ London headquarters have been subject to protests over the firm’s link with fossil fuel giant Shell, and ethics ratings agency B Lab have launched a review into whether it should remove the firm’s status as B Corp.
