WeTransfer appoints former Twitter MD to head up advertising

WeTransfer Advertising has appointed former Twitter managing director Dara Nasr as its new vice-president of global sales. He replaces the outgoing chief advertising officer, Natascha Chamuleau.

Reporting in to chief executive Alexandar Vassilev, Nasr will be entrusted with strengthening relationships with brands and buyers, as well as managing increasing investment in a range of new formats, partnerships and innovations.

In his new role at the firm, Nasr will lead a team of regional heads across strategy, operations and sales throughout several markets including the UK, the US and France.

“Responsible advertising has played an important part of WeTransfer’s growth and success since inception, with our high-quality, user-centric format driving huge appeal and impact for hundreds of brands. We’ve worked hard to earn that trust but are only just tapping into the true scale of what we could achieve in this space,” Vassilev said.

Having spent over seven years in his managing director role at Twitter, Nasr headed up the social media giant’s sales in the UK and helped build up its biggest team outside of the US.
