Beavertown Brewery’s cinematic ‘Flightmare’ haunts the big screens

Beavertown Brewery is taking Halloween to new heights with the launch of ‘Flightmare’, a cinematic spot taking viewers on a ‘dimension-bending’ trip.

The brewery’s latest campaign, ‘Please Be Terrified Responsibly This Halloween’, tells a spine-tingling tale inspired by the mysterious events in the Bermuda Triangle.

Written by author Helen Mullane, the ad features a character named ‘Sonny’ and follows his story as he sets off on his intrepid journey through the skies.

The three-minute-long film and graphic novel are part of the brewery’s ongoing commitment to its visually creative approach to Halloween.

Hand-illustrated by Beavertown Brewery’s creative director, Nick Dwyer, and animated by Black Dog Films’ Alice Bloomfield, the spot is inspired by the likes of Futurama, Goosebumps and Alien.

Showcased across cinema, the adverts will show before Halloween themed horror blockbusters, including The Exorcist: Believer, Saw X and Killers of the Flower Moon.

Supporting the campaign, the brewery will also be taking over Old Street’s Kachette on Halloween weekend for a themed event.

“Our brand naturally lends itself to the Halloween season. You just have to pop to the shops or walk around town to see how much we love Halloween in the UK,” said Beavertown Brewery marketing director, Tom Rainsford.

“So to celebrate Halloween we’ve launched our new short film as well our debut graphic novel. Crack open a can of Neck Oil, give Flightmare a watch and of course, “Please Be Terrified Responsibly This Halloween”.

This spot forms the brewery’s second venture into Halloween spots: last year, the brand released its film ‘Rime of The Ancient Mariner’.

Earlier this year, Beavertown Brewery and Alice Bloomfield collaborated again to create the brewery’s first-ever music video in collaboration with rock legends Queens of The Stone Age.
