The 30-second film, titled ‘Leap’, uses CGI-enabled magic realism to bring the story of swift recovery to life.

Directed by Chris Hewitt at Knucklehead and filmed in both a Spire hospital and on location in the Peak District and Greece, it opens in a Spire hospital and features a consultation room transforming as a patient receives positive news about his treatment.

In a metaphor for the freedom of the convenience of the healthcare service, the patient basked in sunlight and jumped off the cliff to join his wife and children in getting back to what he loves.

Showcased across TV, print, digital, social web and door drops, the advert will be followed by a second ad, ‘Hike’, which will launch in early 2024.

The campaign seeks out a target audience of people over the age of 35 who are open to private healthcare. It aims to position Spire as the ‘fast-track health service’ –  the place to go to get people back to their lives and loved ones as quickly as possible.

M&C Saatchi London executive creative director Matt Lee added: “When people are affected by injury or illness, it can be the simplest joys in life that are taken away.

“This new campaign shows how the world-class treatment at Spire can quickly get you back on the road to recovery, so that you can get back to what you love, sooner.”

“This new campaign shows how Spire Healthcare offers a solution to this problem, by providing fast, world-class healthcare when patients need it most,” added Spire Healthcare head of brand and marketing, Nicholas Godsall.

The campaign follows the UK’s largest private healthcare group accepting an improved £1bn takeover offer from Australian rival, Ramsay Health Care in 2021.
