In a rather left-field move, Hollywood heavyweight Arnold Schwarzenegger has been recruited by discount grocer Lidl to become the new face of its DIY and gardening range.
Famous for bank-breaking blockbusters across the 80s and 90s, Schwarzenegger’s immense global prestige will no doubt prove a considerable coup for the German supermarket chain.

Despite his often packed schedule, the star has opted to become the new face of Lidl’s ‘Parkside’ range, which contains over 100 products ideally suited to gardening and home improvement.
In a statement, Lidl said: ‘DIY is for everyone – that’s what Parkside is all about. The brand is especially aimed at all those who like to repair, build and garden.’
At 76, the actor and erstwhile politician’s career is still going strong as he is set to appear alongside Michael Fassbender in upcoming comedy film Kung Fury 2.
