KFC poaches Taco Bell’s top marketer

KFC UK and Ireland has recruited Taco Bell UK and Europe’s marketing director Monica Pool to be its new chief marketing officer. She is due to take up the role in the early autumn.

Pool will now take over from chief corporate affairs and sustainability officer, Jenny Packwood, who held the chief marketing officer role in an interim capacity since the departure of Jack Hinchliffe earlier this year.

Having previously worked for KFC from 2009 to 2020, Pool is very familiar with the business, having a held a variety of senior management positions across a range of international markets during her tenure.

“The entire KFC team in the UK & Ireland are thrilled to announce Monica’s appointment as our new CMO. A hugely talented marketer with a wealth of experience in our business, she’s the perfect person to lead our brand and marketing function,” KFC UK and Ireland general manager, Meghan Farren, said.

Having left her role as director of people transformation in late 2020 to take up the marketing director position at Taco Bell UK and Europe, Pool is now set to return to one of the flagship roles at the firm where she made her name.
