VMLY&R bolsters social and digital offering with new creative director appointment

Creative agency VMLY&R London has appointed Doug Hurcombe to the newly created role of social and digital associate creative director.

Bringing 20-plus years’ worth of experience to his new role, Hurcombe will lead clients’ creative ambitions to become digital category leaders by connecting businesses and brands with people and culture.

Throughout his extensive career, Hurcombe has led the launch of Danone’s in-house content factory, driven an original story social re-boot for Nando’s, won a webby for VisitBritain and even had his own documentary picked up by Sundance.

“Technology has placed power firmly in our hands – with social the driver of connected brand experiences,” VLY&R Commerce global chief digital officer Debbie Ellison said.

Also joining the agency are Molly Brewer and Nade Kirov, who are specialised in social and content driven creative. The pair joins from Ogilvy where they produced work for clients including Argos and Skoda.
