Kate Moss re-imagine the Diet Coke Break for the 21st century

Supermodel Kate Moss, who was named Diet Coke ‘creative director’ in July 2022, has launched a new collection inspired by the soft drink’s iconic ‘Diet Coke Break’ ads from the 90s and 00s.

Following on from her ‘Season 1’ collection last year, the ‘Diet Coke Break by Kate Moss’ marks her second season spearheading the artistic direction for US brand.

The high-fashion content will be led by two stunning new shots featuring Moss, inspired by 1994’s original ‘Diet Coke Break’ and 1997’s ‘11.30 appointment’ ads.

“Last year was such an incredible experience, so when we collaborated on Season 2, the brand’s archives were an amazing place to start,” Kate Moss said.

The Diet Coke Breaks are classics, and I wanted to add a fashion twist to these moments. The campaign is very different aesthetically to the ‘90s and ‘00s but the narrative is the same.

She continued: “It’s all about a pause to love what you love and indulge yourself in that moment, without taking yourself too seriously. I’m excited to unveil the new campaign soon!”

Through this creative, Moss hopes to inspire people to adopt a positive attitude to life by knowing and loving themselves. A ‘highly covetable’ limited-edition collection will additionally be released alongside ‘more exciting prizes’ for fans.

Coca-Cola Company partnerships and assets senior manager Europe, Sean Kellet added: “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Kate Moss as Creative Director. Last year, we took inspiration from Kate’s unrivalled archives to celebrate our shared love of fashion.

“In Season 2, we have given Kate access to Diet Coke’s legacy to create something visually stunning and unexpected, with a Diet Coke wink. With Kate’s vision, this summer we will continue to inspire fans to embrace an unapologetic attitude to ‘Love What You Love’.”
