Dash into the Limelight: water company launches new social campaign

Dash Water has launched a series of video interviews featuring some of the internet’s most viral celebrities to offer them another opportunity to be thrust into the limelight.

The quirky new campaign is a five-part video series which has been launched to mark the fruit-infused water brand’s latest flavour – Lime.

The videos are hosted by viral YouTubers Josh and Archie, Archie Manners and Josh Pieters, who interview the ‘accidental’ celebrities to reveal the stories behind some of the viral moments that led them to stardom.

They will be released in bi-weekly episodes on the company’s website and social media including YouTube and Instagram, starting this Wednesday (31 May).

The interviews will feature internet sensations such as Kevin the ‘Whisk Guy’ from Come Dine With Me, IT consultant Guy Goma, who was mistaken for a technology journalist live on BBC, the woman behind the colour-changing dress and Professor Robert Kelly whose children crashed his Zoom interview with the BBC.

‘Dash into the Limelight’ will see the hosts discussing the iconic moment that led to each guest’s fame and finding out what happened afterwards, what they are up to now and whether they have any regrets.

The campaign comes after controversy from the company’s wonky fruit campaign last summer. The risqué ads, aimed at combating food waste, saw the company’s provocative billboards banned from the TfL network.

DASH co-founder Jack Scott said: “We believe in taking the unexpected and making it the star of the show. This video series does exactly that – it’s been such a fun campaign to work on and we have loved bringing DASH’s fun personality out in full force.”
