Sky Media expands ad sales relationship with Warner Bros. Discovery

US media conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery has today (10 May) announced a new partnership with Sky’s advertising sales arm, Sky Media.

From 1 July, their extensive collaboration is set to be expanded with the addition of iconic children’s TV channels Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Cartoonito to Sky Media’s advertising portfolio.

The British firm will now become the the exclusive sales house for Spot and On Demand advertising across Sky platforms, and will additionally sell sponsorship alongside Warner Bros. Discovery for Brands, the US outfit’s own advertising sales proposition.

“We’ve always had a fantastic partnership with the Warner Bros. Discovery team and it’s great to enhance this further through addition of their Kids channels within our advertising portfolio,” Sky Media managing director, Brett Aumuller said.

“As both our businesses evolve at pace, we continue to work together, so that audiences and advertisers have exciting content and platforms to watch and engage with.”

This latest development builds on a long-standing successful ad sales partnership between the respective media giants, first formalised in 2002.

Warner Bros. Discovery UK & Ireland group vice-president head of advertising and partnerships, Katie Coteman added: “We’re really excited our fantastic portfolio of Warner Bros. Discovery kids’ content will be soon coming under the Sky Media advertising umbrella, growing our successful partnership further.

“Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Cartoonito are some of the most-loved kids’ channels in the UK & Ireland and this partnership with Sky Media will unlock opportunities to connect them with relevant brands.
