M&S Food has launched a new advertising campaign in a bid to highlight the quality of its products.
Featuring celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, the first ad of the ‘Farm to Foodhall’ campaign sees the star visit a farm in Somerset to take a look behind the scenes of M&S’ Oakham Gold RSPCA Assured chicken.
According to The Grocer, the five-month-long campaign will also see Kerridge explore five more farms that supply the retailer’s Collection Red Diamond Strawberries, Single Origin Honey and Sourdough, as well as its DNA traceable beef and RSPCA Assured milk.
While a total of 12 ads will roll out across ITV and Channel 4, the campaign will also feature across email and social media up until September.
The chef and M&S ambassador will also be releasing recipes made using items from the M&S Select Farmers featured in the ads.

I found the advert very offensive. Referring to a living creature as a food substance which is “grown” for consumption. The sentiment to improve the lives of farm animals is a step in the right direction, but why couch it in this offensive way? SHAME ON YOU Marks and Spencer. Not all of your customers see things in this callous way.
Things like this don’t normally bother me but I found it uncomfortable
I equally found this advert offensive, the poor thing still has its neck sliced off in a barbaric way, shame on M&S & Kerridge had certainly gone down in my opinion.
Your new beef advert is disgusting, stroking a friendly cow saying he is more responsive than your dog then sent the poor animal off to the horror of slaughter !! Cognitive dissonance much !!
Spot on. Bet he’d think twice about just slaughtering and eating his dog! What a stupid comment from him.
So you don’t like free speech and criticism about the beef advert .. wonder what people’s reaction would be if it was the dog that was being described as so friendly and more responsive than a cow ,sending the dog off to slaughter cognitive dissonance at its finest , this advert will turn people vegan
Felt exactly the same, idiot smirking about cow being more friendly than his dog, disturbing
Disgusting hypocritical adverts
Selling lies
Blood on your hands and you won’t even admit it
I found the ad disturbing
So did I liz, not normally shocked but it seemed really callous
Horrific advert I agree – the cognitive dissonance towards animals is absolutely abhorrent!!
Like other people have mentioned, I don’t find it comforting making comparisons to seeing a cow reared for beef and comparing its behaviour to that of your dog. It’s frankly patronising as the comparison is ridiculous! As hopefully you not raising your dog to eat in the future? Coming from a meat eater, shame on both M&S and whoever thought this was a good idea as an advert part of marketing campaign.
I have to turn this ad over when it comes on as it actually upsets me. These lovely animals don’t know what’s ahead of them it’s so sad :( it might turn people vegan seeing them in this way which is the only positive.
Absolutely HORRIFIC advert! Tom kerridge and M&S make me SICK!
I eat meat. I love marks and Spencer’s. But I found this advert to be so off putting. I don’t want to see a lovely cow as friendly as a dog and see it’s lovely face….then the next minute say it’s on my plate! Really dire marketing. It put me off your brand.
One big fat lie, we know what goes on in the slaughterhouses the truth about the dairy industry, shame on you, glossing over the reality .
Really patronising. I’m not an idiot Mr. Kerridge.
This advert is disgusting. I honestly couldn’t believe what I was seeing and hearing. And one of the worst parts is the “RSPCA assured milk”??? Sorry. Is stripping a calf from its mother and milking her till her udders bleed okay with the RSPCA. McDonald’s seems to be going down the same path…makes me sick.
