Inspired Thinking Group (ITG) has teamed up with Peace One Day to promote the capabilities of artificial intelligence in helping to build a more peaceful and sustainable world.

Together the companies hosted an ‘AI for Peace’ event which saw a variety of industry thought leaders gather to discuss the potential of AI as a ‘contributor to both humanity’s destruction and humanity’s survival’.

The event explored whether AI can help make life more efficient and safer and if it possibly exacerbates pre-existing societal issues, as well as the future of technological growth.

The opening address reportedly saw the CEO of the ITG marketing company Simon Ward interview UNESCO’S Gabriela Ramos, followed by AI to Peace producer and director Jeremy Gilley MBE interviewing Simon Ward.

“Achieving worldwide peace requires a universal concerted effort from Government, policy makers, industry and communities, and I’m delighted that ITG can play a leading role in this through our partnership with Peace One Day,” ITG CEO Simon Ward said. “The goals and ethos of Peace One Day chime perfectly with our deeply ingrained culture and values at ITG, and it’s a collaboration with a huge amount of potential moving forward.

“Through our Storyteq marketing technology platform, we understand the capability of AI and automation to empower human activity, and we know that these innovations will play a central role in any efforts to establish lasting change on a worldwide scale.”

Filmmaker Jeremy Gilley founded Peace One Day in 1999 to establish an annual Peace Day (21 Septmeber) which hopes to to reduce violence, including in the cyber space, and share free education resources with schools in all 193 UN member states.

Gilley added: “I am inspired and honoured to be producing with Simon Ward, AI to Peace in association with ITG on World Creativity and Innovation Day. If we want to have Peace One Day, AI will play a crucial role in that journey, and that’s what this experience is all about.”
