Easyjet to split operations between two agencies in bid to streamline marketing strategy

British airline Easyjet has appointed mSix&Partners and Kepler as its new media agencies following a pitch process managed by ID Comms.

As part of a concerted push to streamline its pan-European marketing operations, the low-cost carrier will split its media duties across two agencies for the first time.

mSix&Partners has been tasked with leading on media strategy, planning and offline media buying, whilst Kepler will oversee digital media strategy and investment.

“We were humbled by the quality of participants in our tender process, but both mSix&Partners and Kepler stood out. Their strategic thinking, insight, and capability sets are truly world-class, and we look forward to these teams joining our broader marketing team as we continue to reinvent marketing at Easyet,” Easyjet chief customer and marketing officer, Robert Birge said.

“OMD has been part of Easyjet marketing for well over a decade. The agency and the countless people who’ve worked with easyJet have made substantial contributions to Easyjet’s growth and have lived our Orange Spirit. We thank OMD and each person who’s been part of our team over the years.”

Covering key markets such as the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland and the Netherlands, both agencies will work not only on the Easyjet master brand but also the airline’s package holiday proposition, Easyjet Holidays.

mSix&Partners EMEA CEO and partner, Aaron Quirk added:  “After a really well-run & genuinely enjoyable pitch experience, we couldn’t be happier to become Easyjet’s growth partner across Europe. Easyjet is one of the world’s strongest and most distinctive brands, and still has huge potential to engage & serve millions of more travellers.

“We are delighted that the Easyjet team felt our ‘Power of &’ shine through in everything we brought to the table, and cannot wait to get started building our partnership together.”

Concluding, Kepler EMEA and APAC CEO, Martin Kelly said: “We were inspired by the journey that easyJet is embarking on during this process and are thrilled to be selected. It was clear from the start that the team were looking for a deep partnership to accelerate easyJet’s digital marketing program and we are excited that Kepler is the chosen partner to bring this vision to life.”
