Watch: Independent Scottish coffee roasters’ Xmas spot becomes surprise viral hit

Edinburgh-based Cairngorm Coffee has achieved an unexpected festive hit with a 90-second spot produced on a shoestring £5,000 budget.

The firm’s debut Christmas ad tells the story of a loving grandmother determined to show her granddaughter how much she cares about her by tirelessly working to create the perfect home-brewed coffee for her visit.

“Nothing quite says how much you care more than serving a quality cup of coffee to those you hold closest to you”, Cairngorm Coffee founder, Robi Lambie said.

“We wanted this year’s ad to show that a perfectly-brewed cup has the power to bring families together during the festive season and we’re sure Jane’s emotional journey to build a bridge with her beloved grandson through coffee will strike an emotional note with everyone who watches her story.

He continued: “We hope her battle to overcome hardship in the quest to become an all-star barista will provide inspiration for countless others as they seek to spread joy and share special moments with their own loved ones this Christmas.”

Created by Glasgow’s Lost Clock Productions, the ad has inspired numerous positive reactions from celebrities such as Alan Cumming and Jim Hamilton, racking up close to 200,000 views to date.
