Chapel Down Group appoints former Carlsberg marketing VP as its new CMO

Chapel Down Group, an English wine producer, has appointed Liam Newton as its new chief marketing officer.

In his new role Newton will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s marketing and will also lead the development of the Chapel Down brand. His remit will also include the brand’s direct-to-consumer ecommerce business and its visitor experience in Tenterden, Kent.

The new CMO has worked in various marketing roles for drink brands including Carlsberg where he was the vice president of marketing. Newton was also the marketing director for Bacardi Brown-Forman Brands and the brands director at AB InBev. He has also managed the portfolios of drinks brands including San Miguel, Grey Goose, Bombay Sapphire and Jack Daniels.
