The Department for Education has funded a ‘Digital Marketing Strategy Skills Boot-camp’ programme, with the aim of inspiring young marketing talent to improve their knowledge of the industry.
Organised by the Data and Marketing Association (DMA), the skills initiative will help develop creative, data and digital skill-sets in key areas of marketing.
The hope is that young people in major UK cities, predominantly those who are either unemployed, will be able to improve their career and employment opportunities.
The DMA has claimed that unemployed people who complete the boot-camps will be able to secure job interviews with reputable employers.

These new programmes, launching in London, Bristol and Manchester in September, come as part of the marketing association’s wider campaign to decrease skills gaps and talent shortages across the nation.
While the scheme will educate people from all backgrounds on marketing, it will also increase the talent pool of skilled workers available to organisations across the UK.
“The DMA’s new skills boot-camps will help organisations and the people who power them to benefit from government-funded up-skilling and re-skilling opportunities during these extremely challenging economic times,” DMA CEO Chris Combemale said.
“They will help businesses to acquire skilled, diverse talent saving on both training and recruitment costs, while empowering them to boost growth and productivity.”
“In addition, they will offer support to people from all backgrounds across the UK, not only helping them to develop highly desirable marketing and digital skills, but to also provide them with crucial links to responsible employers.”
