Two of BBC Creative’s directors have left the firm in order to create their own agency.
Tim Jones and James Cross had spent five years at the broadcaster’s in-house agency after playing a key role in setting up its Salford offices in 2017.
With an October launch planned, the pair’s new agency will also be located in Manchester, with Jones previously telling Campaign Live: “You can be a top agency and be anywhere. For the most part of our careers we’ve worked in Manchester and there’s such an amazing talent pool.”

The BBC has now begun the hiring process to replace Jones and Cross, having had an important hand in producing content for the BBC’s coverage of both the 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
“[Jones and Cross] have been a real success story at BBC Creative,” BBC Creative director, Justin Bairamian said.
“We gave them a unique opportunity to establish a strong base in Salford and to work on some great briefs; they rewarded us by leading on work that has had a real impact in culture.
“We’ll always be grateful for the contribution they’ve made and wish them all the best with their new venture.”
