Online fashion platform Thredup appoints first CMO in over 4 years

California-based online fashion marketplace Thredup has named Noelle Sadler as its new chief marketing officer (CMO).

Reporting into the firm’s president, Anthony Marino, Sadler will be Thredup’s first dediacted chief marketing officer in nearly five years.

Sadler joins Thredup having spent over seven years at online fashion retailer Lulus, where she worked as VP of marketing before being made chief marketing officer in 2020.

Before breaking into the fashion industry, Sadler spent close to five years at US cosmetics firm MAC, rising to VP of global consumer engagement prior joining Lulus.

Having begun her career in the film industry, holding roles at both Miramax Films and GreeneSreet Films – Sadler later branched out into the video games sector, joining Rockstar Games as a producer in 2002.

Sadler’s new role at Thredup comes as the firm looks to significantly expand its marketing activity, having launched several campaigns this year – including the firm’s first brand awareness campaign, centred around the Seattle market.

“As we continue to shift consumer preference from new to used, it’s imperative that we make shopping secondhand as easy as possible and provide a delightful experience for the next generation of thrifters, Resale is taking hold of the modern shopper, and Noelle’s expertise will help enhance the customer experience and in turn fuel growth among young buyers,” Marino said.
