A new Sadiq Khan-backed project has been launched as part of efforts to promote more long-term investment into housing, regeneration and green infrastructure across Greater London.
Worth half-a-million pounds, the new Opportunity London Project has been partially funded by Khan and the cross-party group London Councils in a bid to unlock desperately needed funds to tackle the capital’s ongoing housing crisis.
An additional bid has been launched in order to seek further funding, with the private sector being targeted.
Set to be officially launched later this year, Opportunity London will consist of an annual programme of co-ordinated events and activities targeting overseas investment.
A selection of so-called ‘London Ambassadors’ will be recruited to form the face of the upcoming campaign. They are set to be drawn from supporting organisations but also from the city’s sporting and cultural sectors.
