Payments and shopping service Klarna has teamed up with Visa to promote the Klarna card by sponsoring the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022.

The news comes months after the retail bank appointed WPP’s MediaCom as its global agency of record.

The Klarna card, powered by Visa, is a new type of sustainable credit that allows consumers to pay up to 30 days later, online or in-store with no interest or ‘late fees’.

The accompanying out-of-home (OOH) campaign will appear around football sites across the country including Wembley and Old Trafford and will feature English superstars Lucy Bronze and Frank Kirby, Dutch forward Shanice van de Sanden and Swedish striker Kosovare Asllani.

Each of the ‘Team Visa’ athletes are given the opportunity to ‘shine off the pitch’ and showcase their own personal style by entering ‘Klarna’s world of high touch fashion’.

“We are delighted to partner with Visa and their athletes to ‘Play by new rules’ bringing together Visa’s commitment to women’s football and Klarna’s distinctive visuals and creative flair. Incorporating the worlds of two such recognisable and trusted brands has been exciting.”
