OKX crypto exchange appoints new head of marketing to expand brand’s reach

OKX, a cryptocurrency trading app and Web3 ecosystem, has appointed Rachel Conlan as its global head of brand marketing and partnerships.

The move comes as the crypto platform looks to expand the brand’s reach and gain an international presence.

Conlan will use her extensive experience in the sports, entertainment and marketing industry to take on the challenge of marketing crypto in a responsible, accessible, and engaging way through house-hold name partnerships. The move comes months after the ASA announced that it was clamping down on ‘irresponsible’ crypto ads.

Leaving her role as global partnerships lead at CAA sports, the new head of marketing will be responsible for driving the company’s brand and marketing efforts through partnerships with Manchester City F.C., McLaren Racing, and Tribeca Festival.

Appointed to the role of global chief marketing officer for OKX in May, Haider Rafique will lead Conlan in growing brand awareness beyond Asia while onboarding new users to the OKX platform safely and responsibly.

“Rachel is among the very few marketers with a passion to simplify crypto and bring more diversity into the industry,” Rafique said.

“It’s exciting for our OKX community to have another female leader who is all-in on casting a wider net and helping bring millions of new investors to the industry with a message to trade and invest responsibly.”

Prior to her role at CAA, Conlan also worked as global chief marketing operations officer for ‘big six’ agency Havas, part of the Vivendi network.

The new global head of brand marketing added: “The crypto industry is now under a brighter spotlight than ever before. In order to gain wider scale acceptance among both existing and diverse new audiences, we need to drive education and understanding.”
