SodaStream partners up with David Hasselhoff for Earth Day campaign

SodaStream has launched its 2022 Earth Day campaign with David Hasselhoff, pledging to save a baby sea turtle for every sparkling water maker sold during the month of April.

The initiative comes as part of SodaStream’s long-term mission to reduce the amount of plastic waste found in the sea.

While David Hasselhoff has reprised his role as lifeguard to promote the campaign, the sparkling water brand has also teamed up with SEE Turtles to protect sea turtles worldwide.

“Sea turtles are key species in the oceans and without them, the natural order in the ocean may be disrupted,” SodaStream said.

The initiative is the sparkling water brand’s biggest Earth Day campaign to date.

SodaStream global chief marketing officer, Karin Schifter-Maor said: “As part of SodaStream’s environmental responsibility and obligation to the planet, we are always looking for ways to do better.”

“With this 360° campaign, we are engaging people to not only keep the oceans clean from single-use plastic waste, but also giving them the opportunity to save endangered baby sea turtles around the world.”

David Hasselhoff added: “Each of us needs to do our part in contributing to a sustainable world. Our individual contributions will help to collectively add-up to building a strong foundation to reverse the looming threat. Silence is not an option.”
