Taco Bell UK unveils its first ever Christmas TV ad with unique creator An0nymooose

Taco Bell UK has unveiled its first-ever TV advert, working with YouTube creator Any0nymooose to produce a campaign that takes a completely different approach to festive advertising.

The atypical 30-second commercial sees Santa Claus arrive at a Taco Bell car park as a YouTube food reviewer, however his plight to taste Taco Bell’s offerings is soon thwarted by an aggressive Swan that tries to enter his car.

In light of the fact that millions of pounds have been ‘poured into blockbuster ads’, the Mexican chain restaurant wishes to take a different approach, ‘throwing its hat into the ring’ with a low-fi animated ad created in partnership with creative agency The Or and viral YouTube creator of 1.12M subscribers, An0nymooose.

As part of the campaign’s social and TV launch – that airs just the once in a cost savvy spot on ITV2 – Taco Bell UK is offering the nation the chance to claim a free Crunchy Taco with seasoned beef or black beans on 13 December.

The brand’s debut advert aligns with its new research that has revealed that over 11 million Brits feel the economic crunch of Christmas the most between 12 and 20 December.

“We’ve really thrown out the rule book on this one,” The Or co-founder and production partner, Metz ti Bryan, said.

“Making a Christmas ad with an animator that no one has ever seen IRL isn’t something people expect to see at this time of year. But Taco Bell and it’s fans are spontaneous and don’t take themselves too seriously. It’s something we’ve aimed to echo throughout this creative. And the nation gets some free tacos out of it too, which feels like a win-win.”

As a ‘person of few words’, YouTuber and animator An0nymooose, added: “Had a great time working with everyone and really enjoyed the creative freedom.”
