Creative agency Adam&EveDDB has elevated Mark Shanley (centre) and Matt Gay (right) to executive creative director roles, with US creative Katherine O’Brien (left) joining them to complete the creative leadership team.
The newly-appointed trio will assume creative responsibilities following the promotion of Ant Nelson and Mike Sutherland to chief creative officers earlier this year.
Having joined in 2020, Shanley has worked on a variety of top brands for the agency, including Puma, Adidas and Lipton Ice Tea. Gay joined in 2008 and has produced well-known campaigns for John Lewis and Waitrose. O’Brien joins from Atlantic New York, having spent time at both 72andsunny and VaynerMedia.
Shanley said: “Matt made one of my all-time favourite ads, John Lewis’ ‘The Long Wait’, and Kat made another one of them for Value City Furniture. So I couldn’t be in better company taking on this exciting responsibility.”

“Working alongside Mark and Kat to run one of the most talented creative departments isn’t just a dream come true, it’s the proudest moment of my career,” Gay added.
“These kinds of opportunities do not come around very often, and I can’t wait to build on the great work done by Ant and Mike, and to continue to create work that resonates with the public.”
The appointments follow a series of new business wins for Adam&EveDDB, which secured accounts including Disney, Puma, Columbia Sportswear and The Entertainer. This has however been marred by the loss of its flagship Lloyds account this week.
On her appointment, O’Brien commented: “I’m thrilled to be joining this incredible agency that I’ve admired for so long. It’s truly a privilege to be working with so many smart, talented and kind people.”
