A star-studded event was held in London this week to mark the 75th anniversary of Formula One motor racing.

F1 75 Live took place at the O2 Arena and was attended by this season’s 10 teams and their drivers.

So, with the return of motor racing’s biggest competition next weekend, we are taking a look back at some of our favourite F1 ads of the last few years.

Sky

Kicking off our roundup is Sky’s title card sequence from 2022. The title sequence features F1 drivers such as Lando Norris, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton in a futuristic environment reminiscent of a blockbuster movie.

The sequence was created by independent creative studio Coffee and TV.

Tag Heuer

Our next ad is from F1 partner Tag Heuer.

The 30-second spot showcases the luxury watchmaker’s latest collaboration with Formula One, comparing the elegance and efficacy of their timepieces to that of a racing car.

Tag Heuer has formally replaced Rolex as the racing competition’s official timepiece.

Aston Martin

Next in the line-up is Aston Martin’s ‘Brothers in Speed” ad.

The promo places the spotlight on three of Aston Martin’s cars – the Vantage, Vantage GT3 and the AMR24 – racing them against each other.

It was made by the production house Fuse.

Tumi

McLaren’s Lando Norris stars in this stylish campaign from travel and lifestyle brand Tumi.

The spot was filmed at a luxurious seaside chateau in France and spotlights the race car driver’s life as he shows off his favourite products from Tumi’s Turin collection.

It was shot by photographer Emma Panchot and directed by Arnaud Uyttenhove.

Heineken

Our last ad in this round-up is Heineken’s ‘The best driver’, a playful anti-drink driving campaign that doubles as an ad for the brewer’s alcohol-free beer.

Devised by Le Pub, the ad features current world champion Max Verstappen.

The racer tricks his friends into believing he cannot drive as he has had a drink. However, it turns out to be Heinekens 0.0% beer.
