Indeed’s new campaign highlights hiring absurdities

AgenciesBrandsMarketing StrategyNews

Jobs platform Indeed has launched a new integrated campaign targeting frustrated jobseekers and employers.

The campaign, created by 72andSunny Amsterdam and Los Angeles, highlights the systemic absurdities of the modern hiring process.

The new campaign, There’s gotta be a better way, builds on the company’s 2023 campaign, The world can work better. It features nine unique spots across the US, UK and France, each presenting a relatable problem with an Indeed solution.

The campaign addresses various issues in the hiring process, including a lack of transparency, an overemphasis on degrees rather than experience, and the importance of networks over skills.

One ad exaggerates the awkward conversations that occur when salary expectations are misaligned. Indeed’s solution allows jobseekers to set salary expectations on their profiles, ensuring alignment from the start.

Another captures the desperate lengths some feel they need to go to for an interview. Indeed’s solution enables jobseekers to highlight their skills on their profiles.

The platform aims to provide a more transparent, inclusive and efficient hiring process by offering tools such as Matched Candidates, Salary Filters, Indeed Profile and Work Wellbeing Scores.

The campaign launches this month, coinciding with a popular time for jobseekers to make major life changes. The media strategy focuses on high-profile placements and live events that consumers are less likely to skip, such as Premier League matches in the UK.

“With this campaign, we’re addressing the elephant in the room for jobseekers and employers,” said Clíona Hayes, Indeed’s senior global brand and advertising director, “And at the same time, we’re expressing our confidence that Indeed can provide a more transparent, inclusive, and efficient hiring process.”
