Optician Specsavers has unveiled a new campaign showcasing the impact hearing loss can have on relationships.
This comes as research from the firm showed that one in two Brits admitted to arguing with their significant other due to not being able to hear them correctly.
Crafted by Golin London, the campaign stars podcasters, Hilary and Michael Whitehall – the parents of comedian Jack Whitehall – arguing due to a series of leaked stunts that appeared on social media.
Hilary Whitehall is shown shouting at her husband for not hearing what she is saying.

Alex Wood, chief creative officer at Golin London, said: “Millions of couples argue about one partner not listening to the other. But what if this was just due to undiagnosed hearing loss?
“We loved the idea of Specsavers becoming a romantic peacemaker, repositioning getting a hearing check as an act of love and saving eternally criticised partners from the doghouse. The Whitehalls activity is just the start.”
After some speculation on the couple’s socials, the pair revealed it was part of a new campaign and encouraged their followers to get checked for hearing loss.
Hilary Whitehall said: “For a long time, I thought Michael was just ignoring me or not getting my jokes. Following a hearing check at Specsavers, we now know Michael’s got a little hearing loss and he’s got a hearing device, we’re bickering less and laughing more.”
Social was managed by Tangerine and paid media was handled by Manning Gottlieb.
